What is Ethereum Gas?

Gas on Ethereum is the fee required to execute transactions or smart contracts on the network. It's measured in GWEI (Giga Wei), where 1 GWEI = 0.000000001 ETH. Gas prices fluctuate based on network demand—when more users are transacting, prices rise.

Understanding gas prices is crucial for optimizing your transaction costs. During periods of high network activity, you might pay significantly more. By monitoring gas prices in real-time, you can choose the best moment to execute your transactions and save money.

The gas price you pay determines how quickly miners will process your transaction. Higher gas prices incentivize miners to prioritize your transaction, while lower prices mean you'll need to wait longer for confirmation.

How to Use This Tool

GweiGezer shows you three transaction speed options: Safe (slowest, cheapest), Propose (balanced), and Fast (quickest, most expensive). Each option displays the current gas price in GWEI and shows how much more expensive it is compared to the Safe option.

Our smart recommendation system analyzes the price differences and highlights the best value option. For example, if Fast is only slightly more expensive than Safe, it will be recommended because you get much faster confirmation for a small additional cost.

You can customize the recommendation thresholds using the settings button. This allows you to adjust when each speed option should be recommended based on your personal preferences and priorities.
